Color is involved in nearly every aspect of daily life and it’s natural to assume our familiarity with color gives us an understanding of it until we approach color as artists.  Join artist Neil Rizos on this guided, interactive tour into the ‘Color Jungle’ to study the fundamentals of color theory, mixing and matching with plenty of demonstrations and exercises.  We will be using the same method of comparative analysis studied in Observational Workshop I & II.  Suitable for painters of all skill levels using Oils, Acrylics, or Gouache.

I’ve designed this workshop for those who have taken my Observational Workshop I,
and anyone with a working understanding of comparative (observational) drawing.

Our purpose is to explore ways to develop more insightful, expressive
styles of drawing while still observing and respecting the form of the subject.
We will use drawing methods (gesture, contour, value, etc.) and media
(monochrome paint, mixed-media, color) to observe and reveal the subject in new ways.
