Diane Reeves
DIANE REEVES is an award winning contemporary American artist who enjoys painting a wide variety of subjects, emphasizing lovely color and beautiful light. Although she is well known for her luminous floral pieces, which have been her focus for the last few years, Diane’s diverse practice also includes landscape and portrait work as well as still life pieces. Depending on the mood and intent of each piece, her brushwork moves between subtle and intentional to lively and expressive. Similarly, she carefully selects her color palettes, from rich and vibrant to soft and subtle, as befits each new concept and the scene or subject she’s chosen.
Diane has had the honor of serving as an awards judge for local, regional and national events and her work has been featured in several prestigious art magazines, including International Artist, American Art Collector and Southwest Art. In addition to her painting career, Diane is a popular painting instructor. Her oil painting workshops include floral, color mixing, and still life, which are given both locally and nationally.
Student Testimonials From Past Workshops:
Thank you for so generously sharing your work and sharing your decision-making as you paint. Understanding a painter’s process is invaluable, and I am grateful to you for sharing yours so thoroughly as you painted each demo!
Learning your process for painting roses was especially enlightening. I look forward to building on what I learned in the coming days and weeks. I cannot wait to get started!!!”
I so appreciated the safe, welcoming atmosphere you created. I find that taking risks at any age can be a bit frightening. You created a wonderful openness that allowed me and others to ask questions and take risks.”
Q-tips have found a permanent home with my brushes! I will never look at them the same.
You offered an environment that encouraged us and made us relax and learn better. Our group was delightfully diverse, and you managed to bring us together as we imitated your warm encouragement of each other. Thank you, Diane, for providing such a welcoming environment, I learned so much!
